About Me

As a web developer, User Experience designer, and former marketing executive, I'm often required to find the solutions to problems that span disciplines. That means using creativity to bring together compelling user interface, visual design, and marketing copy. I have over a decade of experience designing and developing websites, and several years of experience creating workflows and designing easy to use web applications.

Right now, my day job is User Experience Developer for Boundless Network, where we're building a super-slick platform to connect the promotional products industry--think: anything you can stick a logo on--with people who need promotional products. I draw wireframes, work in Balsamiq and Jira, and often make excellent lunch suggestions.

In the past, I've been the jack of all trades for a small, venture-funded startup in the Oil and Gas software industry. My responsibilities ranged from managing our Google Adwords strategy to creating high-quality marketing collateral, to creating wireframes and mockups in the never-ending attempt to create a perfect user experience.

I also design and code websites for small businesses friends, small businesses, and anybody else who needs help setting up a solid Internet home. Recently, I created the new-look Boundless website.

For over 15 years, I've designed and developed websites for hundreds of clients, from politics, to education, to business. User Experience Developer

Boundless • 2015-Present

Boundless is a software and customer service platform that connects people who need branded products to the suppliers who can make them. My job varies from working in AngularJS in the front end of the platform, to debugging grails server pages, and generally producing wireframes and workflows of all of this process so that all of this can be done. I can't show my work here, but I can tell you I love working in Balsamiq to create wireframes.

I'm also responsible for the upkeep on our corporate site, boundlessnetwork.com.

UI/UX Designer

Accend / drillMap • 2012-2015

I design simple user interactions from sometimes complex product requirements, ensuring that software is powerful, yet still easy to use.

In one project, I designed and themed Accend's new map interface after product requirements forced the company to change its JavaScript mapping library to Leaflet.js. I had to accommodate existing users and their habits while incorporating new features and design elements. The project was a success--one user called it "the best user experience in oil and gas."

In another, I emphasized the importance of real-time data in creating a user interface for renewable energy traders in the Pacific Northwest. My solution combined real-time wind maps with easy-to-read generation graphs, giving traders up-to-the-second access to essential information.

Marketing Executive

Accend / drillMap • Since 2012

I've been responsible for creating virtually every piece of sales collateral Accend has produced since its inception as an early-stage startup, and through its progression to venture-capital backed corporation. My work includes creating high quality rack cards, sales slicks, two 10x10 foot trade show booths, and managing the budget and strategy for Accend's Google Adwords account.

One of my most successful projects was helping to engineer our company's corporate identity. After three years and a round of Series A funding, our company was required to change names. I managed nearly every creative aspect of our corporate name change, including creating our new logo, making changes to and adding new collateral to our corporate website, and ensuring our web traffic didn’t suffer. I also rebranded and reimagined each piece of our corporate marketing collateral, ensuring that our new brand remained consistent throughout each. One month after our official name change, our website was once again the number one Google result important metrics and our website conversions met or surpassed previous averages.
